READ: Romans 3:21-26
Get Going: How can a divine Holy God of Justice ever love sinnerful people in rebellion against Him?
Recap: We saw last time Paul quoting from Psalm 14:1-3 & 53:1-3; that no one is righteous, no not one, no one understands, no one seeks after God,all have turned aside. This means man has God’s wrath against us. Everyone. The heart of the human problem is the problem with the human heart, that it is in rebellion against God. Even though creation declares God is real, powerful, and eternal, man in his natural state suppresses that truth under the deep bedrock of a heart that is made of stone. SInce Chapter 1:18 Paul has been telling us the worst news that every person is non of us a right with God. We are all under His judgement because we have all by our very nature rebelled against worshiping Him.
Context: Now we get to the good news that Paul first told us about in Chapter 1 v.17
17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith,[e] as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”
BIG IDEA: The Righteousness of God Is the death of Jesus to demonstrate His justice
How God wants to transform us by His Word: To believe in God’s justice, the gospel.
